“Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother’s sword has been sheathed in a brother’s breast and that the once-happy plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?” - George Washington, 1777
No. It is my understanding that this feature was added due to windshields cracking from overpressure when the door is slammed. I guess they are pretty airtight.
I gave up on American made cars about 15 years ago. I've owned Toyotas ever since and have been very happy.
They do require maintenance, but they don't break a lot. There's a difference between maintenance and repairs. One you can schedule, the other leaves you stranded, cursing the manufacturer, the dealer, and everyone in between.

Late to the game on this, but isn't there some owner-operator setting (hopefully found in the owner's manual) to disable this?
I mean not EVERYONE wants the windows to crack half an inch upon entry.
I'm the owner of an '08 Silverado, and there's a lot of bells and whistles that I have disabled/modified from default.
And I feel for ya. Other than wearout items, the only thing that's actually broken on this truck in 175K miles is a fuel tank vent valve.
