I then ask her what law she would arrest him for. After all, in order to resist arrest, one must be subject to arrest in the first place.
If the subject is carrying legally or not. Your a fool to if your think we encounter joe blow and just because he says oh yeah I have a permit to carry we believe him! He is required to show ID anyway and PROVIDE it when asked by LEO. The officer told him to investigate if he is a felon or not he should never have taken that guys word.You get that? The cop here thinks that she has reasonable suspicion to detain him on the presumption that he is a felon, and it is up to him to prove that he is not. Under this presumed standard, a cop can detain anyone at any time, on the presumption that he is a felon. Then she says this:

So if someone reports her for walking down the street, police should be able to stop her and determine if she is prostituting herself?
Despite no evidence of a crime being committed?
If she is walking with children, cops should stop her and investigate the possibility she is abusing the children, eh?
This attitude of "carrying a gun is evidence enough of a crime" is what I don't understand. It isn't like criminals are walking around Openly Carrying every day.
And lastly, given how so many cops are convicted of crimes-- maybe we should be allowed to run them through the system and make sure they aren't felons.
Still trying to decide if the attitudes displayed are the norm or the outliers.
I saw that video on fb last night and almost sent it to you.
Here in Florida, our esteemed Attorney General has published an opinion with such convoluted logic; that our CCL is not sufficient for the cops to not arrest us if we are legally carrying concealed since, wait for it..... "[A]n overwhelming majority of Floridians are not licensed to carry concealed weapons. ... the percentage of the population that is licensed to carry a concealed weapon is only five percent (5%). Given the small percentage of the population that is licensed to carry a concealed firearm, the overwhelming majority of firearms, or 95%, are not licensed to be concealed. Thus, an officer’s suspicion that a firearm is not licensed would be reasonable because, in any given case, there would be, statistically speaking, a 95% likelihood of illegality." And your license becomes just an affirmative defense of you legality once you are at your trial......

This has been a frequent problem in Portland. Open carry is legal in Maine. Harassment of citizens openly carrying in Portland cost a previous chief his job. Not only that, but the legislature strengthened the protections for people who exercise their right to open carry.
I wouldn't be surprised if this went to court (again) that the police were admonished by the judge (again).
