Vaccine mandatory

Miguel at gunfreezone says that we should not worry about vaccination cards. This is where Miguel and I differ in our opinion. I have a lot of respect for him, but I am reading what the powers that be are saying, and I don't trust them a bit.
The New York state bar wants the vaccine to be mandatory
NBC news says that the government can't make it mandatory.

“Nobody's talking about coming to your house, holding you down and vaccinating you,” Dorit Reiss, a law professor at the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, told TODAY.

Of course, they also go on to point out that they can make your life miserable if you refuse.
But the federal government has some ways to get people to vaccinate, imposing it as a condition of getting a passport, for example.
So they won't hold you down, but they can force your compliance by denying you the ability to travel, enter a courthouse, and any number of things. That makes it an offer you can't refuse.

Now add to that, the attitude that the left has about "punishing" Trump supporters, and the fact that most people who would refuse the vaccine are Trump supporters, and you see why I have so much distrust.

No. The GOVERNMENT may not make it mandatory, but tyrants like Demshovik Demmings, the Mayor of Orange County in central Florida is doing; they'll make it almost impossible to live your life unless you comply.
Even though the governor of Florida has declared that the piss-ant mini-tyrants in local government can't fine individuals for not wearing masks, Demmings has declared that he is going to fine businesses unless THEY act as his proxy and do his dirty work for him and make people who enter their establishments wear masks or the BUSINESS will be fined or closed.
THAT is where this is all going.
Some airlines have already stated that they will not allow people to fly unless they are vaccinated, after the vaccine is available.

I assume you mean the Federal government...

Since nobody has challenged airlines, hotels, etc with their mask mandates (particularly the airlines) I can see them doing it...the issue becomes what they consider "available".

Pfizer, whose vaccine has to be kept at -94 until administered, recently announced that due to 'supply difficulties', production would only be half of what they promised.

I have looked at the state published numbers of expected vaccine doses locally here - if future supply (per month) doesn't increase, it will take over 3 years to vaccinate everybody in the state. It is hard to mandate a vaccine if it isn't available.

Personally, I'm going to wait as long as possible to get the vaccine. Hopefully, by that time the furor will have died down and I won't have to get it - and any side effects and problems will well known by then.

The risk with any new drug is that the size groups they use to acceptance test it aren't big enough to catch rare but serious side effects. With the "warp speed" program this one was developed under, one has to wonder if that's more likely.

I'm not anti-vax, I get a flu shot every year, I've gotten two different pneumonia vaccines, and more. I'm more inclined to wait on this one and not get it ASAP.

The pastor of the church I go to was the head of the pharmacy department at one of the hospitals over here, before going into ministry full time. He says he's not getting it first, either.

That's my point. It isn't that I am against ANY vaccine. I not only get the flu shot every year, I have talked my wife into it as well. My problem here is that the vaccine is a new type that has never been tried before (mRNA) AND it was rushed in only 9 months, with a single trial of only 1600 or so people.

I am not going to be your beta tester.

Over 40,000 alpha testers:
https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-conclude-phase-3-study-covid-19-vaccine

"Data demonstrate vaccine was well tolerated across all populations with over 43,000 participants enrolled; no serious safety concerns observed; the only Grade 3 adverse event greater than 2% in frequency was fatigue at 3.8% and headache at 2.0%"

I don't want to be a beta tester either. But I had the covid back in Feb and cannot figure out if I can get it again.

Thalidomide

I think that's a good one word answer.

Finally getting your attention, Divemedic?

No. I still believe in vaccination, just not THIS one. Just like I still believe in elections, not THIS one.

That’s ok, Divemedic The longest journeys begin with a single step. Now you have had your eyes opened to the greed and corruption of BigPharma. Oh, and as for that perjorative term “anti-vaxxer.” Have you ever actually sat down and talked to one to find out just what their objections to the vaccine schedule? I bet not. Have you ever seen a rational, scientific explanation as to why all newborns must be vaccinated for Hep B when less than 1% of pregnant women are Hep B positive? Since there isn’t one, I would bet against that too. Simply dismissing those who advocate for vaccine safety and vaccine choice is out of character for you.

Do you remember that time you died from Polio or smallpox? Yeah, me neither.

Again, not debating that on my blog. Do it on yours.
