“Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother’s sword has been sheathed in a brother’s breast and that the once-happy plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?” - George Washington, 1777

What is coming
I look at these and can't help but think that the Second American Civil War is coming. It just looks like the two sides are on a collision course.

Threats
As I predicted, Florida's new Gun Violence Protection orders are being used to silence free speech. I was posting on the Social Media page for one of the local student anti gun marches. One of the posters on that page was saying "no one is coming to take your guns."
I responded with: "I love how all of you keep saying "No one is coming to get your guns. WE just want to ban xxx ...."
He replied: "All of you are crazy, maybe someone SHOULD come take your guns."
I said: "So are you going to be one of the people kicking in doors and coming to get them? I bet not. Pussy"
To which he replied: "how about I come and take them along with the cops when they find out what u r up to. Huh? Not everyone here is afraid of you. You been practicing your bullying technique again on a women? That's all I have to tell them, and your guns go bye-bye."

Krystalnacht
Three months ago, the US anti-gun movement was on the ropes. We were looking at National Reciprocity, moving suppressors off the NFA list, and the gun control organizations were all but bankrupt.
Then came February 14th. Almost immediately, there was a nationwide movement of students, demanding gun control. Within days, they had national fundraising, T shirts, hats, and an organized national set of demonstrations, complete with chartered buses, appearances on national television news shows, and access to congressional hearings. All of it supposedly spontaneous and grassroots.
The high school students I teach can barely accomplish getting their homework done, so I find it very hard to believe that they have the contacts, the funds, and the organizational skills to pull off organizing an entire national political movement in only two weeks. There is BIG money involved here. The kids are being used as pawns, and they don't even realize it.
There is a historical parallel here, and I have been thinking for days that I have heard a similar story, but I hesitated to mention it until now, simply because the comparison has been so overdone as to make it almost a cliche.
I have been saying for quite awhile that the US is facing a coup attempt by forces that want to topple our government. In order for a revolution to be successful, there needs to be an enemy. Some group of people that can be demonized, dehumanized, and blamed for all of that society's perceived ills. The gun owners of the US are that group.
My belief is this: The shooting on February 14, 2018 was the US version of Krystalnacht.
We have been seeing similar hatred of gun owners for more than 2 years. Antifa beating conservatives in the streets as police watch. A school massacre that happens while the police officer charged with guarding the students standing there and watching the massacre unfold. Then, the spontaneous response of companies persecuting gun owners: Dick's sporting goods, Youtube, and now Citi bank. Florida passed a law that allows the state to take a gun owner's property in a secret hearing when cops allege that he is dangerous.
Things are going to get worse. If this movement continues, more businesses will be lined up and waiting to virtue signal, each one coming up with more outrageous restrictions. It wouldn't surprise me if the NRA was a target of banks -or even government soon, especially if the democrats win a majority in Congress.
Gun owners are the new target that is to be demonized. We are all being cast as a bunch of uneducated, overweight, racist white men who are using guns to keep people of color and women from getting the justice they deserve. We are being silenced, and now attacked by business. The rail cars will come out, as soon as we are disarmed.

On the night of November 9, 1938, violence against Jews broke out across Germany. It appeared to be unplanned, set off by Germans' anger over the assassination of a German official in Paris at the hands of a Jewish teenager. In fact, German propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels and other Nazis carefully organized the pogroms. In two days, over 250 synagogues were burned, over 7,000 Jewish businesses were trashed and looted, dozens of Jewish people were killed, and Jewish cemeteries, hospitals, schools, and homes were looted while police and fire brigades stood by.

What they think of us
From the comments to this article:
The AR-15 is the best weapon against a home invasion? Any idiot who believes that is mentally ill and SHOULD NOT own any sort of firearm, including a water gun.Get that? You should agree that you are not allowed to own a gun, and if you don't agree, you are obviously crazy and shouldn't be allowed to own a gun.
The debt, again
Here we go again, another milestone in the destruction of our nation. Just this week, we passed $21 Trillion with regards to our National Debt. President Trump, whose first budget began 6 months ago, has already borrowed about $600 billion. If recent presidential records are any indication, Trump will leave office with the debt somewhere north of $28 Trillion after 4 years, and should he serve a second term, that term will end with the nation having somewhere near $35 trillion in debt.
President Obama' last budget left us with having borrowed $19.57 Trillion. In all, Obama's share of our national debt is about $8 Trillion, or an increase of 185%, a increase that is nearly identical to his predecessor.
President George W Bush borrowed his first trillion dollars in two and a half years. He borrowed his second trillion a year and a half later. Another two years, another $1 trillion. All told, President Bush borrowed $5 trillion in 8 years, increasing the national debt by 187%.
It took President Clinton 3 and a half years to borrow his first trillion dollars. All told, he borrowed $1.2 trillion in his first term, and $600 billion in his second. He increased the national debt by 140% in eight years.
George HW Bush borrowed his first trillion in 3 years, and he increased the National debt by 170% in four years.
Reagan borrowed his first trillion in 6 years, and doubled the National debt during his eight years in the White House.
Carter increased the National debt by 150%, but "only" borrowed $300 billion in 4 years. I guess that was when $1 Billion was real money.
Ford increased the debt by 147% in 3 years., Nixon by 135% in 5 years, Johnson by 116% in 6 years, Kennedy by 106% in 2 years, Eisenhower by 108% in eight years.
Democrats, and Republicans, both in a contest to see who can spend the most in our society of "how much can you give me if I vote for you."

Skimming
I have been in Las Vegas for about a week. Last night, I withdrew some cash from an ATM in the casino located in the New York, New York resort. A few minutes later, someone also withdrew $3,000 from my account, using the same machine.
As soon as I noticed the theft (this morning), I called my bank and disputed the charge. It won't cost me anything, but my card has been cancelled and they are sending me a new one. I will get it in 7-10 days. I contacted casino security, and they are investigating. It is their problem now, because my bank isn't going to honor the withdrawal, so the owner of the ATM- the New York, New York casino - is going to be left holding the bag,
This is why I always carry spare credit cards. This is also why I don't use debit cards. If it had been a debit card, the damage could have been much worse.

Lying liars that lie
There is a national website for all of the schools that participated in yesterday's "spontaneous" and "student led" school walkout yesterday. The only problem is that it is filled with schools that aren't actually participating. For example, the Florida school district where I work is on spring break this week, even though they are on the list.

Also effective immediately
In light of Florida's new law allowing police to take your weapons after a secret hearing if you make double plus ungood statements, any comments on this blog that support illegal or violent activity will be deleted.
Spot the informant
Let's play a new game called "Spot the police (FBI/ATF) informant. It's easy to do, because the informant is usually the one trying to convince you to break the law.

Effective immediately
Because of the risk of being subjected to a Gun Violence Restraining order. I am suspending all carry inside of non-permissive environments that are using off duty law enforcement officers as security. I will also be avoiding those establishments. That includes all theme parks, and Orlando's convention centers.
The anti gun forces could not get seeping gun control passed to their liking, so they passed this law where, based upon a cop's say-so in a secret court hearing, your guns can be taken without your knowledge, and then you have to go to court to get them back. This will cost you thousands of dollars. You get your due process, but only after the fact, and it will be expensive. The process IS the punishment. This law is sure to be abused.
Rick Scott signed this into law because he is planning on making a run for the US Senate against liberal anti-gun Democrat Bill Nelson. Together with Marco Rubio, another RINO anti-gunner, they are the gun grabbers who need to be voted out. I see little harm in getting rid of all three of them.
I hope the RPOF h a plan for running someone against Scott and Rubio in the primaries. I may change my party affiliation to Republican just so I can primary them out.

No sense whatsoever
A pregnant 15 year old girl from Florida can be driven to Missouri and forced to marry the 30 year old father of her child and he can take his child bride back to Florida, and the marriage totally legal. If she leaves him before 18 because he is abusing her, she is not eligible to enter an abused woman's shelter. If he stalks her, she can't even buy a gun to defend herself for three years, because of Florida's recent gun law denying guns to adults under 21.

Students trust their teachers
The students in Florida have announced a walkout to demonstrate for gun control on April 20th. I don't believe for a second that most students are walking out on 4/20 for gun rights. This is clever on the part of gun grabbers, because when all of the stoners leave for the day to go get high, the anti gunners will cheer at how socially aware these children are.
Anyway, as a part of this, our Principal has told the teachers to sit down and have a conversation with their students about the issues at hand so that the students feel like their concerns are being heard. So, sit down with them I did. We had a discussion about all of the issues surrounding campus security. After about a 10 minute discussion, they were assigned to write a paper informing the reader of three to five things that we could change about school that would make them feel safer.
There were 118 papers turned in to me. Of those:
92 of them said that arming teachers to defend themselves would make them feel safer. Some suggested that the teacher actually carry, and about a third suggested that the teacher's weapon be kept in a biometric safe that would open only to an authorized teacher's fingerprint. Opening the safe would set off an alarm in the office. Some suggested that it only be teachers who were veterans, or retired police.
Ten said we should have more SRO's. One of those ten admitted it would be expensive and potentially cost millions, but further stated that price should be no object when it comes to safety. He also suggested raising taxes to cover it.
There were another six who were opposed to arming teachers, with two saying that teachers might become angry with students and shoot them for acting out in class or not doing their homework. Interestingly, both of these students were black, and in two different class periods.
98 of them felt that the schools should be fenced with access control. 15 of them were opposed to fences, saying that they did not want their schools to look like a prison. Three of them wanted to surround the schools with electric fences.
Two students felt that students with firearms experience should be permitted to be armed.
What does all of this mean? Teens are not as unified in demanding gun control as the press and politicians would have you believe.

New Florida law
Florida's new law creastes 790.401, a statute that allows police to take your right to own a firearm away through an ex parte order from a judge. The first hint that you have been targeted like this, is when the cops show up to take your guns.
If this law is signed, I will have to stop entering non-permissive places with my weapon and blogging about it. I will likely stop blogging and commenting online altogether. Make no mistake, this law will be used to silence political opposition. I believe this law is designed to eliminate pro gun voices.

Florida's soon to be new gun control law
One part of the soon to be law banning bump stocks reads thusly:
Read the interesting part again:
Which person? Some people can do this:
Because 8 rounds in one second is a cyclic rate of 480 rounds per minute.
As used in this section, the term “bump fire stock” means a conversion kit, a tool, an accessory, or a device used to alter the rate of fire of a firearm to mimic automatic weapon fire or which is used to increase the rate of fire to a faster rate than is possible for a person to fire such semiautomatic firearm unassisted by a kit, a tool, an accessory, or a device.

School scare
I got a text from my wife: Her school was in lockdown, and she was hiding under her desk in her classroom. I asked if she had heard gunshots, and she said no. I was afraid for her, and it was that fear that made me understand why families of these shooting victims can have this visceral reaction to demand gun bans. It is an emotional response that is born from the fear for a loved one's safety and the instinct that demands you do something. You feel powerless. With that being said, the rational brain says that banning guns will not work.
In my wife's case, it turned out that someone had called 911 because they thought they saw someone entering campus with a gun, but the person was found and had no weapons on him. In other words, part of the hysteria that surrounds the recent shooting in South Florida.
As a teacher who has been a victim of student violence, I can tell you that there are a few things that need to be done:
1 Currently, when a student attacks someone, the incident is swept under the rug. If it is a teacher who was attacked, the teacher is blamed. I have seen this happened to at least 4 different teachers. The violent student gets a pass, and the problems escalate, sometimes ending in someone being seriously hurt or killed. The worst that is done is that the student is assigned to an "at risk" high school for the rest of the school year, then returns the following fall. I have students in my class who have been caught dealing drugs (more than once), carrying weapons on campus, rape, armed robbery, and other serious crimes. How about we do something about that?
2 How about putting a fence around campus and controlling access? Our school board already shot that one down as being too expensive.
3 Allowing teachers to carry weapons isn't going to happen in Florida. See #1- if a teacher is involved in a violent incident with a student, the teacher is blamed.
This is all part of a big push for gun control, not real solutions. I just hope the clock runs on the proposed bills in Florida. The Legislature is in session for only three more days.

Training teachers to protect your kids
We teachers have now been trained in protecting your children from shooters.
This is an example of the ALICE training that teachers in Florida have been receiving all week. To see the ALICE protocol in action, advance to the 29:20 mark. This training is what you do when people are screaming for you to do something, but you won't do what is needed to actually accomplish anything.
The cost to have one of your employees certified as an ALICE instructor is $600, and takes two days.
We were told that they will not even be fencing in the schools, because a killer can easily jump a fence. They are literally doing NOTHING to protect the teachers or the children. To them, it is gun control or nothing.
