“Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother’s sword has been sheathed in a brother’s breast and that the once-happy plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?” - George Washington, 1777

B52
In medical circles, there is the infamous B52. A cocktail of 50mg Benadryl, 5mg of Haldol, and 2 mg of Ativan. It takes the fight out of any combative patient. There is even a morale patch.
Even Benadryl by itself is quite effective as a sedative.
Was common at a "Not Guilty due to Mental Illness so Not A Prison" I worked at to give the not-inmate residents (because not guilty due to mental illness) 2 Benadryl whenever they started acting up.
Benadryl baby! I've got wicked allergies so I live on those little pink pills from April till October. I eat em like little pink Pez candies. Breathing is nice...

ReplyDeleteOne worker called it pseudo-lithium.
I had a bad experience the only time that I took some.
ReplyDeleteJust one 25mg tab and I was shivering for about four plus hours. Not fun.
Diphenhydramine is marketed as Unisom as a sleep aid.
