“Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother’s sword has been sheathed in a brother’s breast and that the once-happy plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?” - George Washington, 1777

Hogg deserves Harvard
According to the Orlando Sentinel, despite the fact that he is completely unqualified academically, because of the movie Risky Business.
More to the point, Harvard deserves Hogg. If that's how they want to squander nearly 400 years of reputation, they're entitled to do so.
Since I'm retired, I'm out of touch with hiring. Plus it had been a few years since I was involved with hiring engineers or summer interns by the time I retired. I personally wouldn't recommend anyone from any of the Ivy League schools. It's not like there aren't stories about most of them. Harvard's neighbor on the block, MIT, still seems to be producing worthwhile graduates, although there seems to be a preference for wanting to be engineering leaders more than engineers.
